WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO?

Routine painless clinical procedures are conducted and consist of the following:

  • Clinical Interview: Conversations with members of the research staff who ask a series of structured questions.
  • Neuropsychological Tests: A series of tests of memory, attention, perception, etc.
  • Laboratory Tests: A small sample of blood will be drawn so the genetic component can be analyzed. A urine sample will also be collect and screened.
  • Evoked Potential Measurement: A recording of the brain waves in response to changes in sound.
  • Neuroimaging: Safe, non-radioactive brain scans will be administered while the participant rests and while a task is performed.
  • Eye Tracking: A technique that measures eye movements while the participate looks at a moving light on a screen.

Parents are asked only to share memories and give a sample of blood for DNA analysis
